Nick

Nick Conner is an education leader and youth development specialist based in Montpelier, Vermont. He has over 15 years of experience working in nonprofit and education leadership roles and specializes in program development targeting student engagement, youth experiencing homelessness and supporting youth in the juvenile justice system.

In addition to being a Senior Fellow with Attendance Works, Nick is the Community Liaison with Montpelier Roxbury Public Schools (MRPS). In this role, Nick leads the district's student engagement work with a focus on supporting students and families who may be chronically absent. As part of the district leadership team, Nick is also focuses on policy development and research that support strong connections between the community and school.

Prior to joining MRPS, Nick served as the Director of Reengagement with Colorado Youth for a Change in Denver, Colorado. In this role, he oversaw the Student Reengagement Program, the 9th Grade Intervention Program and the Juvenile Justice Reengagement Program. Working in partnership with over 60 schools across more than 10 school districts and the Colorado Department of Education, Nick was a state leader in student engagement and dropout recovery work. Nick received a Bachelor of Science degree from Kent State University.
